QR Code Graphic Design Project
QR Codes are everywhere, and I'm sure you have used them or at least seen them more than once. They are fancy barcodes that most smartphones can scan with the built-in camera, and they redirect users to websites, social media pages, or even discount coupons.
But the fact is they are boring. They are boring to look at, and only computers understand the "hidden" information contained within them. They all look the same and mean nothing to you or me, so I wanted to do something different.
Inherently there is not a lot you can do to a QR code to make it look prettier, as QR codes are a mess of pixels that look like a sprite in an 80's video game that has just exploded. I decided to turn my QR code that brings you to this website into a mini space invaders scene.
Depending on the type of QR code (yes, there are different versions!), there is a built-in tolerance or error correction that if a small part of the QR code is obscured or missing, it will still scan ok. It is how I got away with deleting a small portion of the QR code on the right-hand side and had the space invader encroach on it a little.
